Staged Reading – May 2011 at the Mammals Theater.
Roland “Mac” McCrea is a good cop and an honorable man, but the job has gotten to him. Being labeled a clean cop in 1974 Chicago is like painting a bulls-eye on your back, and his partner Billy Monaghan is willing to do whatever it takes to get a confession out of a suspect. Mac’s insomnia is threatening to push him over the edge until he agrees to visit Padre Macabre, the city’s best sleep doctor. But Macabre has his own secrets. And when Mac starts waking up in strange places, he’s going to wish he let the insomnia kill him.
